STAGE MANAGER

The Area Stage Company is looking for an experienced stage manager for its productions. A stage manager is the key assistant to the director providing practical and organizational support to the actors, designers, stage crew, and technicians throughout the production process. 

Specifically, the stage manager may do any or all of the following:

  • Scheduling all elements of rehearsals/performances

  • Maintains stock of rehearsal/performance supplies and materials

  • Works closely with the director to assist in any task they may have 

  • Documenting all notes pertaining to rehearsals and production


A stage manager must have a range of skills including:

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • The ability to work under pressure in a high-paced environment

  • Flexible schedule

  • Working knowledge of all technical aspects of theatre

  • Working knowledge of computers and programs

 

The Area Stage Company is a non-profit theatre and conservatory located in Coral Gables. Established in 1989, it has since become one of the most influential theatre venues in South Florida. Today it also functions as a conservatory, providing acting, dance, and music education to hundreds of students in the Miami area.
